About

Plan and develop at sea, while also protecting the marine environment.

An intense and fun week of lectures, workshops, field trips and simulation gaming.

What?
An intense and fun week of lectures, workshops, field trips and simulation gaming (using the MSP Challenge) on marine or maritime spatial planning. Learn about how to plan developments at sea (e.g. wind farms, shipping, …) while ensuring a thriving marine eco­­­­system.

Who?
Master students in the field of marine / maritime topics. You will interact with lecturers, researchers and practitioners in MSP from the Universities of Oldenburg (Germany), Nantes (France), Liverpool (UK) and Breda (the Netherlands), as well as the Baltic Sea Research Institute (Germany).

How much?
There is no registration fee, however a limited capacity and a high quality acceptance procedure. Successful applications from abroad are eligible to get a 250 euro scholarship for travel and accommodation.

Write a motivation letter of max. 500 words in which you introduce yourself, what curriculum you are following and where, and why you got interested in MSP.

Hotels / Hostels as well as transfer to and from Oldenburg must also be organized individually. Some recommendations are:

  • by plane:
    • Airport Bremen and then train to Oldenburg
    • Airport Hamburg and then train to Oldenburg (via Bremen)

All meals have to be paid and organized individually. The University of Oldenburg offers special students rates at the main cafeteria for lunch.
